Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 17, 2026
Lo-Fi Network LLC (“Lo-Fi,” “we,” “us”) operates Lo-Fi Local and related web pages (the “Service”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how it is used.
Information We Collect
-
Shop-submitted information:
Businesses that activate listings may submit information such as business name, address, links, images,
descriptions, and contact details. This information is used to display shop listings within the Lo-Fi network.
-
Interaction data:
When users scan Lo-Fi QR codes or interact with Lo-Fi pages, the Service may record basic interaction events
such as the location scanned and the time of the interaction.
A randomly generated session identifier may also be used to help prevent abuse and support features such as
event participation, progress tracking, and leaderboards. This identifier does not identify a person and is
not used for cross-site tracking.
-
Device and usage information:
Basic technical information such as device type, browser type, and app version may be collected to maintain
reliability and improve the performance of the Service.
-
Optional location data:
If a user grants permission through their device, approximate location may be used to show nearby businesses
or events. Location permission is optional and can be denied or revoked at any time.
How We Use Information
- To display shop listings and updates within the Lo-Fi network.
- To enable interactive features such as QR scans, local events, scavenger hunts, and participation tracking.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, or manipulation of the platform.
- To communicate with businesses that activate listings.
Lo-Fi is designed to operate using anonymous interaction data rather than personal user profiles.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the Service
(such as hosting, analytics, or form processing providers).
Aggregated or anonymized interaction statistics (such as scan counts or participation totals) may be used to
measure activity across the Lo-Fi network.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law.
Data Retention
Information is retained as necessary to operate the Service, maintain system integrity, analyze platform usage,
and prevent abuse.
Businesses may request removal of their listing information by contacting us.
Children
The Service is intended for general audiences and businesses. Lo-Fi does not knowingly collect personal
information from children.
