These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern use of Lo-Fi Local, Lo-Fi Shop Links, discovery grids, Passports, QR-code experiences, mobile applications, and related websites and services operated by Lo-Fi Network LLC ("Lo-Fi," "we," or "us") (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Lo-Fi helps visitors discover participating local businesses, see merchant updates, scan QR codes, and take part in optional local activities and rewards. You may generally explore and scan without registering an account, providing your name, or supplying an email address or phone number.
You agree to use the Service lawfully and without interfering with its operation, security, or other participants.
Lo-Fi operates a local discovery and participation network. Participating businesses provide their own listings, contact details, links, images, updates, promotions, and reward descriptions. Businesses are responsible for the accuracy of that information and for the products, services, and offers they provide.
Lo-Fi does not independently verify every merchant statement, offer, or listing and does not endorse or guarantee a merchant's products or services merely by displaying them.
QR scans and related activity may be subject to eligibility rules intended to keep participation fair. For example, an activity or reward may count only qualifying physical shop visits, limit repeat scans, or require visits to different participating locations. Scanning a code does not always guarantee participation credit.
Lo-Fi may reject duplicate, ineligible, automated, manipulated, or otherwise invalid activity. Participation results shown in a Passport are subject to applicable activity rules and normal technical limitations.
Participating shops may choose to offer Shop Rewards. Where enabled, a reward becomes available after the applicable number of qualifying scans or other published conditions are met.
Lo-Fi may also offer a Monthly Grid Walk in participating towns. An active Grid Walk may require qualifying scans at five different eligible shops during the applicable month and a final qualifying visit to a designated Featured Shop. Specific dates, availability, eligibility, participating shops, and reward details may vary by town and month. A Grid Walk is not necessarily offered in every town or every month.
Progress and rewards may reset or expire according to the rules displayed for the relevant activity. A reward may require presentation or redemption within a stated time window. Visitors are responsible for reviewing the displayed requirements before attempting redemption.
Participation is voluntary. Unless expressly stated otherwise, rewards are offered and fulfilled by the participating merchant, not by Lo-Fi. Merchants are responsible for accurately describing, honoring, and administering their offers, subject to applicable law. Lo-Fi does not guarantee that a merchant reward, product, service, or promotion will remain available.
Lo-Fi may correct errors, prevent abuse, or suspend an activity when necessary for security, fairness, or lawful operation. We will not knowingly use these Terms to override rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
The web Passport may store participation information locally in your browser. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, changing browsers or devices, or browser storage restrictions may cause locally stored progress to disappear or become unavailable.
Lo-Fi Local may offer an optional "Save Your Progress" flow that transfers available browser Passport information to a durable Passport stored through Lo-Fi's service infrastructure and accessible through the Lo-Fi Local mobile app. This flow uses temporary handoff information and an app credential; it does not require a conventional user account.
Saving a Passport improves continuity compared with browser-only storage, but it does not guarantee permanent retention, cross-device access, or recovery in every circumstance. In particular, uninstalling the app, resetting the device, or losing the app credential may make a saved Passport inaccessible. Lo-Fi currently does not promise account-based recovery or restoration of a lost credential.
You are responsible for keeping access to your device reasonably secure. If an app or browser credential is unavailable, we may be unable to identify or restore a specific Passport. For details about storage and handling of participation data, see our Privacy Policy.
Participating merchants are responsible for keeping their listings, rewards, and promotional content accurate and lawful. Merchants must safeguard access to any editing or administration tools provided for their locations.
Lo-Fi may modify, limit, suspend, or remove merchant content or access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, inaccurate or unlawful content, security concerns, or operational problems.
Any separate purchase, installation, sponsorship, or commercial arrangement with Lo-Fi may be subject to additional written terms. These visitor Terms do not replace those arrangements.

We may restrict or suspend access or participation when reasonably necessary to address violations or protect the Service.
The Service may provide links to merchant websites, social pages, mapping services, app stores, and other third-party resources. Their content, availability, policies, and transactions are controlled by those third parties.
Downloading or using the Lo-Fi Local mobile app may also be subject to the applicable app store's terms. Lo-Fi is responsible for its own Service, not for a third party's independent products or conduct.
Our Privacy Policy explains how Lo-Fi handles business information, interaction events, participation identifiers, browser Passport data, optional saved Passport data, and supporting service information.
We may maintain, modify, update, suspend, or discontinue Service features, towns, activities, or integrations. We strive to keep the Service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation or continuous compatibility with every device, browser, or app version.
Where feasible, we will communicate material changes through the Service. Availability may also depend on participating merchants and third-party providers.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Lo-Fi Network LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service, participation in activities, merchant interactions, or loss of browser-based or saved Passport access or progress. This provision does not limit liability where doing so is prohibited by law.
We may revise these Terms. Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update takes effect signifies acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
